Our latest Aegis commision

You might have noticed how much we love unusual shaped and coloured diamonds and gemstones. When we had a recent enquiry for a sapphire Aegis ring with a stone with grey and teal colour we couldn't wait to get started on the stone search.

What an amazing sapphire we were able to find!

Inspired by our Aegis range (which you can see here) and in particular this rose gold and Montana sapphire Aegis ring we could start hand carving a wax model for the ring.

Our Aegis and Arris rings are hand carved in wax, this means we can use really unusual shaped gemstones and if working on a bespoke ring like this the design can be tailored to your preferences. The stone angle can be adjusted, the band made narrower or wider, the bezels tapered or straight. The great thing about wax is that it's much easier to adjust the design at this stage rather than when the ring is cast in precious metal.

This was the wax model that we created for this project.

Once the ring was cast in platinum the design was refined and finished with our signature satin finish and the stone carefully set in place.

It's a stunningly unique ring!
