Hand carved gold ring commission with blue stone

The latest in our Carve ring series, this commission was designed around the customer’s own stone and is only the second we’ve made using a rectangular stone. The generously sized stone is a pale aquamarine blue which contrasts beautifully with yellow gold.

We carved the sculptural and substantial ring shank by hand to fit the large rectangular blue stone. It was then cast in 18 carat yellow gold and finished by hand. Once the ring shank was finished we set the stone. You can see a time lapse video of this process below:

The outer surfaces of the ring have been given a soft brushed finish. This contrasts with brightly polished channels which are carved into the ring shank on either side of the stone.

We were delighted with the result; the finished ring is a beautiful one-of-a-kind piece that we hope will be enjoyed by its owner for many years to come.
