Introducing McCaul Goldsmith's new Aegis collection
Handcarved in wax, we tried and tested our design until we were perfectly happy with the height and proportions of the ring. The stunning diamond is held in a bold bezel setting which enhances its unique shape. The bright white of the diamond contrasts with the crisp, clean coolness of precious platinum.
Following on from handcrafting this initial ring, we developed our new collection, creating stunning, individually sculpted rings with unique, geometric shaped grey, champagne and white diamonds and coloured gemstones, set in generous 18 carat rose, yellow or white gold, or platinum.
Aegis, meaning protection, is represented as a shield in classical art and mythology and seemed like the perfect name for our new fine jewellery collection.
Smooth joints and clean lines are created from undulating curves which wind their way around the wearer’s finger like a miniature sculpture. The feeling the Aegis collection rings provide is one of protection, perhaps it is the talisman effect of the shield shaped diamonds; when worn the wearer feels a sense of security and strength. These are truly special rings.
